Pyle Takes Oath of Office

On Monday, July 30, 2007, Donald Pyle became Crawford County Clerk

With the resignation of RJ Wilson on July 20, 2007, Donald Pyle was appointed as the Acting Crawford County Clerk. On Monday, July 30, 2007 the Crawford County Democratic Precinct Committee held a meeting at the Courthouse in Girard, Kansas to appoint a new County Clerk. At the meeting, Precinct Committee Member Doug Keller made the nomination for Donald Pyle to become the new County Clerk. Representative Robert Grant seconded the motion.

With no other nominations, and at the advice of legal counsel Eric Lindblatt, Pyle received the nomination without a secret ballot vote from committee members.  The Democratic Precinct Committee then submitted the appointment to Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius for final approval.  Pyle received the letter of approval from the Governor on August 7, 2007, making him the official Crawford County Clerk.  Pyle took the oath of office and was sworn in by Honorable Judge Donald Noland on August 22, 2007.  Pyle’s first order of business was to appoint Heather Hurt Spaur as the Deputy County Clerk, who also took the oath of office that day.
