Free program for people with diabetes and want to learn more about managing their condition and get tips for healthy cooking.
You and a guest are invited to What's Cookin' with Diabetes. This is a free, two-hour seminar prepared by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, K-State Research and Extension, and Prime Therapeutics LLC. This seminar will take place at Memorial Auditorium, Lower Level, 503 N. Pine, Pittsburg, KS 66762. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
This program includes:
- A chance to taste test healthy recipes
- Information on topics such as normal blood sugar ranges, glucometers, physical activity, and common myths about diabetes.
- Tips for healthy eating by extension agents Anna Mae Brown, CEA, FCS, and Martha Murphy, CEA, EFNEP
- Information on managing diabetes from a certified diabetes educator, Susan Seglie, RN, MSN, FNP-BC, CDE
